Sushi 99 (and other Japanese foods) to be launched in China with Chinese partner

Sushi 9 will launch in China on May 6, with the other restaurants in the country already opening.

The first restaurants will be opened in Beijing and Shanghai.

The Japanese food giant, which is in China to open the company’s second flagship location in Shanghai, said the first restaurants in Shanghai will be open in June, while in Beijing, they will be available in May.

The announcement comes as China, a key US ally, has become increasingly concerned about the safety of its citizens after a series of deadly incidents linked to overseas Chinese restaurants.
