In a study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, researchers at the University of British Columbia and the University at Buffalo looked at what effect the sushi they ate had on their health.
The researchers found that those who ate sushi daily were less likely to suffer from any of the five chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and high blood triglycerides.
They also had lower rates of hypertension, cardiovascular disease and obesity.

It may also be possible to avoid the health risks associated with eating too much sushi.
It’s good news for people who already have health problems, such for people with high blood pressures and type 2 diabetics.
It could also help you stay healthier longer and avoid the long-term damage from excessive amounts of salt.
“Sushi is not just good for the body but also good for your health,” Dr Richard L. Smith, a professor of health psychology at the school of public health, told BBC News.
“You need to eat sushi regularly.
That is the key to your health.”

There is no evidence that you need the fish to get a healthy meal.
“The researchers did not find that the healthy meal in question was healthier.
Rather, it was better for their bodies to eat a healthier lunch of fish, fruit and vegetables.
They added that the fish was a great source of omega-3 fatty acids and omega-6 fatty acids, which could help prevent heart disease and stroke.
The study also found that people who ate more than one serving of sushi a day were less satisfied with their health, compared with those who had a healthy one.
They had higher levels of depression and anxiety and lower levels of happiness.
Dr Smith said this was a good thing, and sushi was a healthy option.
He said: “Sushi, as an appetiser, is a great meal, but the thing that you want is a healthy dinner, or a good meal that’s been prepared.”
